THE REPORT:
The Himalayas (meaning "abode of snow") contain the Earth's highest and dangerous peaks. Yet the foreboding peaks of this famed mountain range in Asia are home to more than just ice. Since hikers and explorers began traversing and climbing in the Himalayas centuries ago, rumors and sightings have continued to surface of something rare or even supernatural living in the pass.Bigfoot or Yeti, it may surprise some, is not solely an American legend. Sightings of Bigfoot are incredibly common in the Himalayas and have come from locals, visitors, mountain natives, and many other reliable sources. The creature which has been come to be called: Bigfoot, is said to be a Half-man, Half-ape standing approximately 3 meters tall.
Recent news on Bigfoot, however, surpasses standard sightings. Locals living on the Nepalese border claim to have found hair strands belonging to Bigfoot. The hair strands were supplied by a Nepalese man named Dipu Marek who found the hairs recently after a farmer in the same area reported seeing Bigfoot on three consecutive days. The hairs were deep in the jungle, and supplied to the BBC by Dipu. From there the hairs were taken to Oxford Brooks University for chemical testing and comparison with known, indigenous species. And that's when things got strange.
The hairs did not match any known species, indigenous or other. The hairs may possibly belong to an extremely rare species of bear which has only been reported, not scientifically proven to exist. Scientists agree that the hairs have every possibility of belonging to bigfoot, or another unidentified species of primate.
MY OPINION:
I am not a scientist myself, and so I do not know who or what these hairs might belong to, but to me it sounds like this is an exciting discovery even if the hairs are not bigfoot's. Bear, Monkey, or Monster, the impact on the scientific community and the cryptid world will likely be large. I will update as soon as this mystery resolves with the no-doubt exciting answer that awaits. Until then,~Adam
